Paris is a remarkable city for many reasons, not just for being the second largest in Europe. With its famous sights, iconic architecture and impeccable sense of culture, it’s no surprise that Paris has and continues to inspire people from all walks of life – particularly artists, writers and performers looking for inspiration.

Paris is known as one of the world’s hotbeds of culture, rivalling London and New York, and you’ll never be stuck for cultural attractions when visiting the City of Lights. See the best of French and international art in the magnificent Louvre museum, home to more than 3,000 exhibits including the famous Mona Lisa and the work of artists who spent considerable time in the city – most notably Monet and Picasso.

You don’t have to head indoors to see inspiring art in Paris though, with many of its essential sights being works of art themselves. The Eiffel Tower may be more highly regarded as an engineering triumph than a treat for the eyes, but heading up the steel structure can offer incredible views of the city – including other landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe. Built under orders from Napoleon in 1806, this building is a great photo opportunity and also significant for history lovers, as it features the names of all Napoleon’s generals of the time.

Inspirational breaks in Paris don’t have to be spent dashing around with a camera and battling through crowds, of course, and many of the best experiences you can have in the city are much more low-key. Whether you take a moonlit river cruise along the Seine, relax in the city’s many parks or browse the unique cultural delights of the Champs Elysees, you can enjoy the capital at your leisure and on your own time schedule before heading back to Paris hotels.

If you’re looking for lesser-known gems on your cultural break, carrying out research before you arrive could lead you to Paris’ undiscovered artistic gems. If you’re a book lover, you could find a staggering variety of rare books at Shakespeare and Company bookshop in the Latin Quarter, or track down famous writers themselves at Pere-Lachaise Cemetery. With such luminaries as Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and Frederic Chopin buried in close proximity, the cemetery is a great place to reflect on Paris’ artistic legacy and the numerous people from all over the world that it continues to inspire.

Joy and sorrow both are part of the life. There are moments when we feel energized, bold and cheerful. Also there are times when we are sad, disheartened and in grief. In times of distress, people seek condolences from friends, relatives, colleagues and associates. Sorrow is the time, when the aggrieved person or family is visited by almost all the people, he knows. People come to share the grief and boost the aggrieved person’s morale. This is the ritual and the trend.

Sympathy flowers provide a convenient way to tell that you care and you are too hurt to hear about the distress. With flowers, you can say thousand words silently. If chosen carefully, these flowers can reveal your condolences and much of your thoughts and emotions. There is a wide variety to choose from and you select according to the place and person. The flowers are wrapped decently so that they don’t open. The packing and ribbon are so woven that look sober and perfect to alleviate the pain caused due to sudden loss.

When someone is in grief, our first reaction is to call him and say that we are also feeling sorry for his grief. The next step is to visit the person and say some words that can up his mood. This is where sympathy flowers enter. With an intelligent choice, we can sweeten the gloomy environment and provide a touch of joy to the aggrieved family. Our flowers can become a reason to smile for them. If you can couple your flowers with a sympathy card then it would be much better. Sometimes people carry a basket full of chocolates, wafers, toffees and gourmet cheese for their friend in grief. The food item work as a source to change their mood and overcome the sadness.

Sympathy flowers are not tough to find as many online florists offer them. The price is affordable so that everyone could use these flowers and share grief of his friends or relatives. Conversation gives soothing and flowers give happiness. Next time when you go to meet someone who is in distress, don’t forget to carry a bouquet of sympathy flowers with you. If possible, grace the bouquet with a condolence card and make a sympathy basket full of delicacies. The flowers would scent the place with their fragrance and the delicacies would sweeten the gloomy ambience. The disturbed family would feel your presence even after you have left.

The waters running through and around Stockholm are so clean you can swim and fish in them wherever you are in the city. Hundreds of years old, this fascinating city resides atop an archipelago, with fourteen islands in total making up the land used by Stockholm and its inhabitants. One of the most fantastic tourist activities to do in this stunning city is to make the most of its unique arrangement and simply explore island after island, being brought to and from each one by the convenient and frequent ferries that shuttle tourists and locals alike around the area.

Thanks to Stockholm’s incredible build, stretched across fourteen individual islands, the best mode of transport if you need to get from one to another is, of course, by boat. Due to this, Stockholm’s waters enjoy a decent amount of water traffic, yet watching all of the other water vessels, from sailboats to yachts, is another fun activity that will keep you entertained throughout the voyage. Travelling around Stockholm is a fascinating trip that can be a great way to always move forward along your journey, with each island more than well equipped to accommodate your every need. You’ll find hostels and hotels, shops and restaurants, theatres and public gardens – as well as everything else you can think of that all cities have at their fingertips – so you needn’t worry about landing on any particular island and not being able to find what you need.

That doesn’t mean you’ll have to take a boat to get between Stockholm’s myriad islands: the city is perfectly connected without its waterways, too, and you can make the most of its mass transit system, as well as walking, biking or driving your way around too. If you’re interested in Stockholm’s history, head to Gamla Stan, which is the city’s old town. Here, you’ll find stunning architecture dating back centuries, as well as cloistered streets that are incredibly to explore and an experience in their own right. You’ll also find plenty of upscale boutiques and cosy, hole-in-the-wall restaurants to keep your energy levels up as you continue to explore this stunning city.

You’ll definitely need a good night’s rest in Stockholm hotels after a day of working your way across the islands – but that only means you’ll be energised for a whole new day of exploring as you enjoy an unforgettable holiday in this beautiful Scandinavian city.

If foodie holidays are your favourite then your next city break destination of choice should be the capital of Norway, Oslo. While not the cheapest city to explore food and drink in, this exciting and beautiful capital is overwhelming in its offerings and, should your financial cup be overflowing, perfect for a lavish and luxurious getaway for you and your loved ones.

Dining out in the myriad of restaurants, bars and pubs in Oslo can only be described as outstanding. Oslo prides itself on its national and international fare, and you can expect to be served only the finest dishes prepared by skilled and talented chefs with a passion for what they do. Depending on what you most enjoy to dine on, Oslo has plenty to offer – from local Norwegian cuisine to smart international dining, including French, Spanish, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and so on. The city is never short of fresh sea ingredients, meaning Oslo is perfect for seafood fans to get their hands on fabulous oceanic cuisine, from fresh fish to lobster, mussels, oysters and crab. Whatever your favourite type of seafood, Oslo has it by the bucket load – and it’s always caught fresh every day and delivered straight to the restaurants for preparation.

If you’re looking for authentic international dishes, head to areas of the city where the immigrant populations are large – that way, the local restaurants and diners are sure to have some of the most tantalising, authentic food that is loved by Norwegians and immigrants alike. You may also want to enjoy a taste of the local lifestyle and head to the beach one day to barbecue fresh fish and enjoy a glass or two of beer or wine. If you do plan to purchase alcohol, low alcohol level beer can be bought at supermarkets, but anything stronger must be purchased from special liquor stores called Vinmonopolet.

Eating and drinking in Oslo makes for an unforgettable holiday experience, and if you’re a foodie you probably already know that one of the best ways to learn about a nation is through its cuisine. After all, the heavy use of fish and seafood in Norway already hints at not only an abundance of fish in the country but how money is made there too. In any case, when you head back to your hotels in Oslo after another stunning night out in a local restaurant, you won’t be regretting choosing this welcoming city as your latest foodie destination!

On the twenty ninth of April this year the wedding of the decade is set to take place as Prince William prepares to marry Kate Middleton in the event that has the United Kingdom buzzing with anticipation. With the date now proclaimed a public holiday too there’s no excuse not to celebrate – and what better way to do so than by heading to London and partying with the locals in the city where the wedding itself is to take place?

While members of the public cannot attend the actual event itself, nothing is stopping you from celebrating close by and, thanks to the wedding’s location in famous Westminster Abbey, you can take in the sights and sounds of one of the most-visited parts of London, too. Westminster is a tourist haven so you won’t have to worry about being stuck in the middle of nowhere while celebrations are taking place. In fact, you couldn’t be better positioned for some royal wedding fun when you visit London for this tremendous event.

Now that more details of the wedding have been released, you can plan your day properly in order to get the best from the experience you can. For example, it will be possible to catch a glimpse of Kate Middleton herself as she makes her way to the abbey by car on a route that has been announced to be as follows. The car will slowly pass the Mall, which is the road that runs from Buckingham Palace, then Horse Guards Parade, then it will traverse Whitehall and Parliament Square before arriving at the abbey. Following the service, which begins at 11am, the newly-wedded couple will be driven by carriage back along the same route – which is the perfect chance to spot the both of them together, so make sure you arrive early in order to get a good spot.

After a day of partying and celebrating the royal wedding with your travel buddies and new friends alike, you’ll want to check out some of London’s top bars and restaurants for a celebratory meal and drink. There are plenty to choose from and you can be sure that you’ll return to your hotel near royal wedding exhausted after a fantastic day. Celebrate the royal wedding in style by heading on a holiday with a difference – visit London over this exciting time and you can look forward to being in the big city itself during one of the most iconic moments of this decade.

Dresden, which is the capital of the Free State of Saxony in Germany, is a beautiful city that is perfect for visiting at any time of the year. What’s more, the surrounding area is gorgeous and it’s possible to visit other cities such as Prague in the Czech Republic and Wroclaw in Poland – meaning your short break in Germany could quickly become a multi-country tour!

Dresden has plenty in it to keep you within the city boundaries too, though. If you’re not too keen on getting out of the heart of the city, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained. There’s bars, restaurants, art galleries, museums, theatres, opera houses, entertainment and attractions by the bucketful in Dresden, and the city is one that many tourists find themselves hoping to visit again and again after falling in love with it at first sight.

But if you are a bit of an explorer who can’t wait to see what the area around Dresden offers, then it’s simply to get out there and see it all for yourself. Dresden is a very well connected city and you’ll find good public transport links between Dresden and all nearby cities. It only takes a few hours to make most journeys, and you can enjoy affordable and comfortable transport along the way. However, for those with a bigger sense of adventure (and a driver’s licence) you can also hire a car and build your own journey, taking your rented vehicle to see various points of interest in the countryside and to simply enjoy going for a drive through unknown terrain. It’s a good trip from Dresden to Prague, Wroclaw and even other cities in Germany, such as Berlin! There’s no doubt that you’ll find plenty of destinations to visit and really acquaint yourself well with the Free State of Saxony.

Of course, you’ll need to stay put every now and then as you’ll have to rest and get some delicious local fare into your empty stomach – luckily, German cuisine is delicious and tasty to many tourists. Just make sure you’re stopping in Dresden hotels for the night if you’re also planning on sampling some of Germany’s fantastic local beers.

A visit to Dresden makes for a wonderful holiday, whatever time of year, and you can rest assured that you’ll find your experiences edifying and enjoyable, whether you spend the whole time in Dresden or choose to get out there and explore the surrounding area.

Not many people are too aware of just how famous Brighton’s piers used to be. Today, they are overshadowed by the one remaining pier that is still used – Brighton Pier. This pier used to be known as Palace Pier, however, and it used to be one of three piers that were all equally popular.

Brighton Pier is something of a replacement pier, too. During the 19th century, there were two piers called the West Pier and the Chain Pier. At the end of use of the Chain Pier in 1896, a period of a few years passed while the West Pier was the only one in use. Then, in 1899, Brighton Pier (known as the Palace Pier then) was created and the town once again enjoyed two piers. With Brighton Pier also came a change in industry in Brighton: the Chain Pier was a crucial part of Brighton’s marine trade, but the new pier was built in order to provide a centre for entertainment – something that Brighton is now famous for today, with Brighton Pier still going strong as a destination for fun and games.

As for the West Pier, it was also built as a pleasure pier but endured difficult times following WWII and went into steady decline. Petitions gained the pier Grade 1 listed building status, but attempts to fix its rapidly deterioration largely went unfunded. In winter 2002/03, heavy storms damaged the pier beyond recognition, then later on in 2003 arson attacks destroyed it. What remains is an abandoned island of wood that is slowly sliding into the ocean.

Brighton isn’t letting itself get too dismayed, however, and plans for a replacement West Pier are underway, meaning the town could soon perk up its industry and enjoy the luxury of two piers again. Until then, however, Brighton Pier is more than sustaining the city’s tourist industry, which is very healthy thanks to the promise of fun and frolics at the Pier, where fairground games and entertainments are available year round.

The history of Brighton’s seaside structures is a fascinating one, and you can learn a lot about Brighton’s past itself simply by learning about its piers. This is a fascinating thing to do when you’re not partying on Brighton Pier itself or resting up at Brighton hotels – so why not visit this extravagant destination soon and see the famous piers for yourself? Unfortunately, there may only be so long you can catch a glimpse of the original West Pier, so it’s worth visiting now.

The Easter holidays are always special, as they provide a much needed break from the day to day hustle and bustle, allowing you to spend some real quality time with friends, family and loved ones. With the huge amount of low cost flights available, more and more people are looking to go abroad for their breaks. Who wants the stress of getting to and from airports, standing around in queues, being cramped and having to pay for luggage? Fear not – there remains a vast array of exquisite and exciting locations to visit, without having to resort to additionally harming the environment.

A short train ride can get you to the countryside and into the holiday spirit in no time. A great and often overlooked option to keep costs down and children entertained is to opt for multi-family holidays, offering extra company for both children and adults whilst reducing hotel and cottage rental prices with group discounts. Over the Easter period the British countryside has a huge amount to offer. Many of the National trust and English heritage sites shall be opening up their doors, running a myriad of family based Easter activities such as egg hunts and decorating, food fairs and animal petting zoos to keep the young ones entertained.

For those who only have time for a short weekend break, it is highly recommended you stay in hotels to really make the most of your time! Nobody wants to spend time cooking and cleaning when you only have a few days to relax. Hotel concierge services can be a great help to organize activities for you and your family if you don’t have the time to yourself.

Couples looking for a nice romantic Easter weekend break away can book themselves into a host of luxurious hotels all across the British Isles. The numerous facilities on offer should be taken advantage of, having a relaxing sauna or pampering yourself in the spa is a great way to unwind and enjoy your holiday. The more adventurous of you who do not want to remain in the confines of the hotel, can find a whole range of interesting and exciting cultural and historical sites just a stone’s throw away.

If there is one final piece of advice to keep your break stress free, book ahead. The Easter Weekend takes place towards the end of April, with Easter Sunday falling on 24th of April of this year so be sure you organize your plans well ahead to avoid disappointment.
